Ross Lanyon
Managing Director
Ross Lanyon was born in Mildura in 1962 and was educated at the Mildura West Primary School and Mildura High School. On completing his HSC, he attended the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology and completed a Bachelor of Business majoring in Accounting. Ross then completed his Certified Practising Accountant course.
While in Melbourne Ross worked at the Herald and Weekly Times and advertising representation company ParPlan.
Ross returned to Mildura in 1984 (where he still lives) and worked in various newspaper departments, including the front office, editorial, and accounting.
He became Company Secretary and a Director in late 1984 and Managing Director in 2008 and Chairman on his fathers passing in 2013.
Always keen on sports, Ross played football, cricket, basketball, tennis and golf competitively. He also coached football at both senior and junior levels and cricket and basketball at junior levels.
Ross is currently a Director of Racing Victoria Limited, Mildura and District Hospital Fund Ltd. and the Victorian Country Press Association Ltd.. He is also Chairperson of the Mallee Health Foundation and Mildura Club. Ross is a Life member of the Mildura Football Netball Club and and past Chairperson of the AFL Sunraysia Commission Ltd..
Ross received an Order of Australia Medal (OAM) in 2015 for services to Racing and the Mildura Community.
Jamie Lanyon
Director
Jamie Lanyon was born in Mildura in 1973 and was educated at the Mildura West Primary School and completed his schooling at Camberwell Grammar, when his parents moved to Melbourne in 1984. On completing his VCE, he was accepted at "Big 4" accounting firm Deloitte on their cadetship program, working full time in Audit, while studying part time at Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology (RMIT) completing a Bachelor of Business majoring in Accounting. He is an associate of the CPA.
In 1997, an opportunity arose for Jamie to return to Mildura, and take up a maternity leave replacement role as an accountant at ENG Media.
Jamie, following his passion for technology and information, took the role as Administration Manager at one of ENG subsidiary companies called Infoscreens,
which pioneered touchscreen tourist information kiosks in the CBD of Melbourne in the early 2000’s.
He became Assistant Manager of Sunraysia Daily in 2002, under then General Manager Des Morris, and on the passing of his father in 2013, a Director of ENG Media, concentrating on the digital development of the business.
Always keen on sports, Jamie played basketball and tennis competitively, and still enjoys playing golf on a regular basis. He was heavily involved with Bambill Football Netball Club, serving as Treasurer for just under 20 years, receiving Life Membership in 2015.
Jamie served as Chairman of Mildura Racing club since 2007, and has just taken on the role as Club Manager on a part time basis in 2024.
